IT'S A UFI! Unused Fashion Inspiration!
Inheriting fur coats, 50's dresses and maroon print pussy bow blouses from long distant relatives is always a fun little treasure. Imagine if Patsy was a rarely seen auntie donating her cat eye sunglasses, PVC leather skirts and alcohol addiction on to needy nieces pestering for the biggest punk white lapels or shoulder pads possible.

Patsy is the original Cocaine Kate, veteran of the bohemian beehive, partner in crime to ensembly challenged Eddie and all around darling of leather clad undergarment smut. She practically escaped from the womb with punchy red lips and wearing oversized costume jewellery. Sin is in, sweetie.

With the seemingly never ending dark evenings and the expanding tumour of wearyness I'm growing from constantly seeing cheap sickly shaded peplums on the high street (GO AWAY), unnecessary button placements and gawdy embellishment sicking up on me, I want to channel my somewhere inner Patsy and restore some David Bowie-inspired, liver damaged, snakeskin lined, shoulder padded girl power.

Cast your fragile minds back to the demon decade some call the 90's. Televisual fashion inspiration jumped into your eyeballs via early Sex & The City, perhaps some grey shaded tailored fun times on Ally McBeal, cardigan central on Dharma & Greg (ew) or matching outfits denim migraine on Sister Sister. Early Ab Fab Patsy was like the hot fudge in a sundae of tie dye, hot pink and "the Rachel".

She always managed to balance her long lean silhouettes in addition to having lapels as big as her bottle of Stoli. It was a drug fuelled tapestry of mannish suits, big big pearls, using underwear as outerwear, snakeskin, print clashing, Chanel inspired boucle jackets, transparent mesh, long legs and leather clad everything.

I have mapped out some Patsy inspired S/S runway looks for some attempts at the appearence of the minx. Lacking in pre-Winehouse beehives, smudged make-up, falling out of taxis and chain smoking but jumping on her large collared punk aesthetic, loud prints, sheer rich fabrics, folky bohemian trickles and clean, long, organic lines. Particularly in love with the Balmain S/S 2013 canary yellow print tuxedo with thick gold hoops.
